Microsoft Windows 11

Need help.   This HP printer is somehow the worst setup I've ever encounted with an HP.  I've had over 20 of them.  They say the claim code automatically comes up with initial setup and prints out.  Nothing happened.  Theyre telling me where to look for it but the menus do not provide me with one,  I've seached all through network and WiFi settings and have not come up with a code or email for my machine to register and remote print.  HELP!

@drktekt, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP 9730e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty setting up your HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e. Here are some steps you can follow to locate the claim code and complete the setup:

Locating the Claim Code

From the PrinterControl Panel:

  • On the printer control panel, touch the HP ePrint icon. This should display the printer's email address and the ePrint status.
  • If the ePrint status is not enabled, enable it. The printer will print an information sheet that includes the claim code and printer email address.

Using the HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app.
  • Follow the prompts to add your printer to the app.
  • Once added, go to settings and enable ePrint. This should provide the claim code.

Network and Wi-Fi Settings

Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi:

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network properly.
  • From the control panel, navigate to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings and ensure it’s connected to your desired network.

Reboot the Printer:

  • Turn off your printer, wait a few minutes, and turn it back on.
  • Retry accessing the ePrint settings.

I hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
