HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi Multifunction Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP CM1312nfi MFP ( connected wireless) was working, printing OK.  Then started  printing only text -- both color and black & white.   Diagrams, pictures, ect. do not print. Send a page with only picture, prints a blank page.  I have downloaded and installed most recent SETUP.  No change, prints only text.

Hi @krazykat2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the printer's settings or perhaps the drivers. Let's troubleshoot this step by step.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Make sure that the printer settings haven't been inadvertently changed to print only text. Check the settings both on the printer itself (if it has a control panel) and on your computer.

Driver Check:

  • Ensure that you have the correct and up-to-date printer drivers installed on your computer. Sometimes, an outdated driver can cause printing issues. You mentioned that you downloaded and installed the most recent setup, but it's worth double-checking if this setup includes the correct drivers.

Print Test Page:

  • Print a test page directly from the printer's control panel (if available). This can help determine if the issue is with the printer hardware itself or with the communication between the printer and your computer.

Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve performance.

Connection Check:

  • Ensure that the wireless connection between your printer and computer is stable. Sometimes, a weak or unstable connection can cause printing issues.

Color Settings:

  • Check the color settings both on your computer and in the printer's settings. Ensure that color printing is enabled and set correctly.

Test with Different File Types:

  • Try printing different types of files (e.g., PDF, image files) to see if the issue persists across all file types or if it's specific to certain types of documents.

Reinstall Drivers:

  • If none of the above steps resolve the issue, try uninstalling the printer drivers completely from your computer and then reinstalling them from scratch.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and hopefully resolve the issue with your HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello - Thanks to Alden4 for his very helpful list of suggestions. Using his suggestions I now have the printer printing black, Color, PDF and text/color/ images at same time; both wireless from my laptop and the printer control panel; printing seems back to normal.

I still have the Copy, Scan, Photo printer, front panel functions that I have not been able to make function.  All three of the front panel buttons seem to share the same “error” and the SD card if it has to print a picture from the SD card. The panel displays a blinking yellow light with the displayed text “Document Feeder Misspick”.

The common problem is when the printer is asked to print from the front panel buttons and it is unable to “pick up” a sheet of paper from the paper bin. I say this because, for instance, after I press the button to start the Copy process, the first thing that happens, I can hear mechanical movement, that sounds like an attempt to pick up a sheet of paper. The sound is soft, not like something is jambed. One attempt is made, then a second attempt, then the error display of “Document Feeder Misspick “. For what is worth, to clear the error the printer has to be turned OFF and then back ON, with the power switch. None of the panel controls will clear the error. Of course, what I am saying about a probable cause, are only my observations, and could be off base.

I would appreciate any suggestions how to trouble shoot and correct the “Document Feeder Misspick” problem.

Thanks for your support,
