Hello All,
I am having issues with my LaserJet Pro MFP 281fdw. The printer shows 90% remaining for all ink cartridges. I do not print frequently, so there is no reason to believe this is inaccurate. However, the print quality is terrible. All colors appear faded, and the magenta ink is not printing at all. On older printers, I would have cleaned the print head, but I understand this printer does not have one and the user manual does not have instructions on a comparable cleaning method. So far I have gently shaken/checked the ink cartridges and their chips for damage, recalibrated the printer, updated the firmware, run the cleaning function via the printer multiple times, and adjusted the print density. All supplies are HP brand and economode is off. Below are some photos of what I am seeing:
Thanks in advance.

Either the magenta cartridge is defective or a contact for the toner cartridge in the body of the printer is bent or broken,
Open the toner drawer and check the contacts on the left side. There should be 4 sets of contacts, one for each color,

Thanks for the suggestion! The contacts appear to be in good shape, pictures below for reference. I do not think the magenta cartridge is defective, as it printed normally for 3 years prior to this. Do you have any other recommendations?

Would not rule out a defective cartridge without trying a another one, which is not always possible for the average user. Especially if these happen to be 3rd party cartridges which have a pretty high failure rate in my experience.
