Hi @Barry1011,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I’ve reviewed the image you shared, and here’s what I see:

  • The printed pages have horizontal color stripes (cyan, magenta, yellow) across the top and middle sections.
  • The text is visible but partially overlaid by these colored bands, which suggests a print quality issue rather than a paper feed problem.
  • This pattern typically indicates toner distribution issues, dirty transfer components, or improper calibration in color laser printers.

Recommended Fixes for Color Banding

  1. Print a Cleaning Page
    • On the printer control panel:
Setup > Service > Cleaning Page.
    • This removes excess toner from the transfer belt.

  2. Run Color Calibration
    • Go to:
Setup > Service > Color Calibration.
    • This realigns colors and fixes banding.

  3. Check Toner Cartridges
    • Remove each cartridge and gently shake to redistribute toner.
    • Inspect for leaks or damage.

  4. Inspect Transfer Belt
    • If the belt is dirty or worn, it may need cleaning or replacement.
    • HP considers this a maintenance part (not usually covered under standard warranty).
