So I have a deskjet 2700 and the HP instantnink subscription. Today I tried to print some fathers day cards on a better quality paper. When the prints came out the quality was bad and some of the text was missing. When I tried the same cards on normal paper the quality was also just as bad. After that I tried a test page and excluding a few spots the quality was just fine. What can I do?

Hi @Tyyppi
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
Update the Firmware
Perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.
Clean the printhead (HP Smart app)
Use the HP Smart app to clean the printhead and fix many print quality issues including incorrect colors, streaks, and faded printouts.
-
Load plain white paper into the tray.
-
Open the HP Smart app, and then click the image of your printer to open the settings and management tools.
-
Under Tools, click Print Quality Tools, and then select Clean Printhead or Clean.
A Cleaning printhead message displays, and a test page prints.
EXAMPLE OF TEST PAGE PRINTOUTS
-
Examine the print quality on the test page.
-
If the print quality is acceptable, you are done troubleshooting.
-
If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Yes in the HP Smart app to perform a second-level and third-level cleaning, which are more thorough and take a few extra minutes to complete.
NOTE:Printheads that are badly clogged might require another printhead cleaning cycle. Wait at least 30 minutes before cleaning the printhead again.
Click here for the remaining steps.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for the excellent help! Sadly it didn't fix the problem. As far as some black letters missing yes that was fixed (by cleaning the print heads) but the print quality is still below avarage. I also don't have any firmware updates. The biggest problem is the quality of the ink and especially black. The machine says there is about 33-40% of colored ink left and 100% of black ink yet the black looks the worst.
I wonder could it be because I have the HP instant ink (btw since you work at HP for that service you get 15/5 points its perfect and the only reason I got a HP). And when the last ink shipment arrived it took around 2-6 months for me to replace the ink with the ones I got from the subscription even though the ink was in its original packaging the whole time.
