Product: HP DeskJet 2855e

I need a printer that can work with black ink only. I don’t want color to be an option. Will, this printer work if I do not put colored ink  in?

On page 32 of the manual below you can try to find some information about single cartridge mode.

If it doesn't work, you really have to have the cartridges in full.
