The printer is brand new.  I have installed the coloured ink cartridge but I am having a lot of trouble installing the black ink cartridge. No matter which way I try to install, it doesn't want to click into place.  I have double checked that it is the correct cartridge number etc.

I'd like to help!

 

I understand you are unable to insert the black cartridge.

 

Follow the steps below -

 

Reset the product

 

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Wait at least 60 seconds.

Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

Reconnect the power cord to the printer.

Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

 

 Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware  

 

Check for jams or broken parts, refer to-Paper Jam

 

You may also refer to -Replace HP inkjet printer cartridges

 

If the issue persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer
