Hello,
I recently purchased a HP DeskJet 4255E, and have completely set it up and have downloaded the drivers on the product page, set up HP Smart, and installed ink cartridges, completed a calibration, and verified WiFi connection is set up and is fully connected to windows 11 via laptop Bluetooth/Printers and Scanners, and via phone WiFi connection in the HP Smart app (installed on windows 11 laptop and IOS phone)
I have constantly gotten printing errors since set up, along with when I am able to get it to print, it prints a single line of the image or document. I was able to get one full successful print done and the rest come out like this before I get a printing error or the printer releases it like the images provided.
I also am unable to print from browsers directly on my laptop but can send it to my phone to print via HP Smart. I am an active subscriber and have the 300 sheet plan.
The following images are the almost successful ones however everyone prior was a single line across and release.

@ShaunFoley01, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP DeskJet Printing Errors!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Check Printer Status and Connection:
- Ensure the printer is on and free of any errors indicated on the display panel.
- Confirm that your printer is connected properly to your network. Print a test page from the printer’s control panel to verify the network setup.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Uninstall the current printer drivers from your laptop and reinstall them from the HP product page.
- Make sure to download the latest drivers compatible with Windows 11.
Check Ink Levels and Cartridges:
- Use the HP Smart app or the printer control panel to check the estimated ink levels.
- Ensure cartridges are installed correctly and securely. Clean the cartridges if necessary.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
- This can help reset any temporary error conditions.
Print Test Document:
- From the HP Smart app or your computer, attempt to print a test document to check the printer functionality.
- Ensure there are no print queue errors or pending jobs that might be causing conflicts.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
