Hi @SR2031 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet Plus 4100 is printing blank pages despite using genuine cartridges and running the cleaning and alignment from HP Smart, here are some additional troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

1. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Remove and Reinstall Cartridges: Make sure the ink cartridges are installed correctly. Even if the printer recognizes the cartridge as full, they could be misaligned or not seated properly. Try removing the cartridges, checking for any protective tape that may have been left on them, and reinstalling them.
  • Check for Ink Smudging: Examine the cartridge's ink nozzles for clogs or dried ink.

2. Check for Printhead Blockage

  • Manually Clean the Printhead: Sometimes, running a cleaning cycle through the printer isn't enough. You may need to clean the printhead manually.
    1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    2. Open the printer cover to access the cartridges.
    3. Carefully remove the cartridges.
    4. Use a soft cloth dampened with distilled water to gently wipe the printhead (the part where the ink comes out). Be sure not to touch the electrical contacts or the ink nozzles directly.
    5. Reinstall the cartridges and run the cleaning process again.

3. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause issues with printing.
  • Open the HP Smart app and check for any available firmware updates.

4. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Then, run a print test.

5. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

  • Even though the printer isn’t showing any errors, there may be small paper debris or an obstruction that is causing issues.
  • Open the printer and inspect the paper path, especially around the rollers and the area where the printhead moves.

6. Test with Another Device

  • If you're printing from a specific computer, try printing from another device (e.g., smartphone or tablet) to rule out software issues.

7. Print a Test Page

  • Go to Settings > Printers & Scanners (on Windows) or the relevant print settings on your device.
  • Select the HP DeskJet Plus 4100 and print a test page. If the page is still blank, it's likely a hardware issue, possibly with the printhead or internal connections.

8. Try a Different Ink Cartridge

  • Even though your cartridges are genuine, it's worth trying a different cartridge. Sometimes, new cartridges can be faulty.

I hope this helps.
