I'm having some serious issues with my deskjet printer. No matter what I do, it keeps having issues with the alignment, but somehow is using up my black ink when printing out some important documents (which all turned up white on the papers, btw). Do I have to buy a new black ink cartridge to confirm if it just needs more? I've tried nearly everything that was suggested - cleaning the cartridges via printer, carefully cleaning them myself, resetting the printer, and then printing the alignment page. Alignment fails every time.

Hi @abear1175,
If you have already performed the steps from the document Alignment errors and the issue persists, it could be a cartridge failure.
Please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your printer.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Hope this helps!
