I havent used my printer for a while. Today when i decided to re-use it, replaced the old cartridges with new ones, however, on connecting with HP Smart, its showing problem with cartridge and the ink levels is still showing as empty.
Tried removing the cartridges and cleaned the connectors on the printer with a brush, if there could be any dust accumulation. Nothing seems to be working.
Dont know what to do.

Welcome to the HP support communtiy.
Are you using the same wink cartridges number as the old one?
If you have tried all the steps mentioned in this HP document:- Click here
And if the issue still persists, follow these steps:-
Perform a power reset , Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.
- Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
- Turn on the printer.
Update the printer firmware to install all the updates
