Hi,

My son is having trouble with his HP Deskjet 2620.

 

He has just replaced the black ink cartridge (HP 304), however, the printer still thinks the cartridge is empty.  He has therefore brought the printer to me to see if I can get it to work.  I have tried the usual tricks of cleaning the sensor on the cartridge, shaking the cartridge to move the ink and switichting the printer on and off both with the cartridge in and out.  The test print seems to work but not clearly.

 

I have added the printer to my laptop, which does not list the printer when I select a doc to print.

 

My question is therefore two fold:

1.   How do I get the printer to recognise the cartridge as full?

2    Why is the printer not listing when I select print, even though it is listed in the control panel?

 

Any help would be appreciated.
