Hi @joe5782,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with your HP Deskjet 2700 All-in-One printer. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can get the color printing working again.

Check Ink Levels

  1. On the printer's control panel, locate the ink drop icon or the "Ink Levels" option.
  2. Check if the color ink levels are sufficient. If they are low or empty, replace the color ink cartridge.

Clean the Ink Cartridges

  1. Open the printer lid to access the ink cartridges.
  2. Remove the color ink cartridge.
  3. Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water to gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge.
  4. Let the cartridge dry for a few minutes, then reinsert it back into the printer.

Print a Quality Diagnostic Report

  1. From the printer's control panel, find the "Tools" or "Settings" menu.
  2. Look for an option like "Print Quality Report" or "Diagnostic Report" and select it.
  3. The printer will print a diagnostic page that might show if there are any issues with the color cartridge.

Check Printer Settings

  1. On your computer, open the document or image you want to print.
  2. Click on "File" > "Print" to open the print dialog.
  3. Make sure that the correct printer (HP Deskjet 2700) is selected.
  4. Click on "Properties" or "Preferences" to access the printer settings.
  5. Check that the print settings include color printing and not just black and white or grayscale.

Update Printer Drivers (Optional)

  1. Sometimes outdated printer drivers can cause issues. To update them:
    • Go to the HP support website.
    • Enter your printer model (HP Deskjet 2700) and follow the prompts to download and install the latest drivers for your operating system.

Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  4. Try printing a color document again.

Additional Tips:

  • Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Sometimes, third-party cartridges can cause compatibility issues.
  • If the problem persists, there might be a hardware issue with the color cartridge or the printer itself.

Give these steps a try and let me know if the color printing starts working again!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
