Hi @K_W4,

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2800e shows a “0” error on the display and won’t print. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Restart the printer
Turn the printer on, then unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer while it is still on.
Wait about 60 seconds, reconnect the power cord, and turn the printer back on.

Check cartridge installation
Open the cartridge access door and make sure both cartridges are installed correctly.
Remove and reinstall them firmly until they click into place.

Check for paper or carriage obstruction
Open the printer and look for paper scraps or anything blocking the cartridge carriage.
Gently move the carriage side to side (with the printer powered off) to ensure it moves freely.

Confirm paper is loaded properly
Make sure paper is aligned correctly in the input tray and the guides are snug.
Incorrect paper loading can trigger attention indicators.

Reset the printer
With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back and the wall.
Wait about 60–90 seconds, reconnect power directly to a wall outlet, and turn the printer back on.

Reconnect the printer in HP Smart
Open HP Smart, remove the printer, then add it again.
This refreshes printer status communication.

I hope this helps.
