Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting cartridge errors, follow these steps to fix the issue.
Perform a power reset
- Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
- Turn on the printer.
Update the printer firmware

Followed your direction. Downloaded firm ware DJ35251A_ 1942.dmg version SAPIFN 1942 AR for my HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3525.
Firmware could not be opened as APPLE cannot check for Malicious software AND GOT ERROR THAT THE FIRMWARE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH maOS 15.1
Detailed report sent to Apple
