@Bodie17, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP ENVY 4520 printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP ENVY 4520 printer is not printing in color, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check the Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the tri-color ink cartridge is properly installed and has not run out of ink. Replace the cartridge if necessary.
Printer Settings:
- On the Printer Control Panel:
- Open the Setup menu, select Tools, and then select Align Printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the alignment process.
- On Your Computer:
- Go to the Control Panel and open the Devices and Printers folder.
- Right-click on your HP ENVY 4520 printer and select Printing Preferences.
- Ensure that the settings for print quality and color are not set to print in grayscale or black ink only.
Print a Test Page: Print a test page or a printer status report to check if the color is printing correctly from the printer itself.
Clean the Printhead:
- You can clean the printhead from the printer control panel by going to the Setup menu, selecting Tools, and then selecting Clean Printhead.
Update Firmware and Drivers:
- Make sure that your printer’s firmware and drivers are up to date. Visit the HP Support Website to download and install the latest firmware and drivers for your HP ENVY 4520 printer.
Check for Software Issues:
- If you are printing from a specific application, try printing from another application to check if the issue is specific to that software.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
