HP ENVY 4527

Dear Support,

My uncle passed and left me his HP ENVY 4537 printer, which came with InstaInk cartidges. I have replaced the cartridges with brand-new official HP 304 black and colour cartridges, but am still getting the error message, "The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer." I have disconnected the power chord for 60 seconds (twice) reinstalled the cartridges and switched back on and updated the firmware, which was already up-to-date, and the error persists. Logically it cannot be the cartridges, as they are new and OEM, so is the problem with the InstaInk account? I have no way to login to my uncle's account or make changes there. Can someone please help, as I need a printer to print postage labels, packing notes and invoices ASAP and I am already out of pocket with the new cartridges. This is my first post here in the forum....

NOTE: I tried a semi-full reset from the support menu and now the "Incompatible Cartridge" menu is displayed with no "OK" button, effectively locking me out of my printer entirely.  Replacing with the InstInk cartridges restores the OK button and the menus but now says, "HP Installed Ink Problem :  Cannot Print. Visit www.hpinstantink.com for information." Which is why I bought new cartridges in the first place. I do not have an InstaInk account, as the printer was a gift.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi, I have just read somewhere that the correct cartridge for the HP ENVY 4527 is the 302 cartridge and NOT the 304. ?

Can someone please confirm that I have indeed ordered the wrong cartridges, please? Or at least tell me the correct cartridge number to order?  The HP shop website  says the ENVY 4520 series cartridge is the 63, and  I was "recommended" the 304's on the InstInk website. Apparently the HP shop has never heard of the ENVY 4527 model?

I believe you are in the European region. Yes, the printer uses HP 302 ink cartridges in this region. You may refer to this document - Which cartridges work with my HP printer?

 

HP 63 is used in the North American region.

 

A semi-full reset will not resolve this issue. Kindly use the compatible ink cartridges to resume printing. 

You may visit Hp Store to check and order compatible ink cartridges.

 

P.S HP Envy 4527 falls under HP Envy 4520 printer series.
