My printer (rarely) prints 1-2 good pages; however, most are streaked, missing lines and/or colors, or completely blank. (When blank, the printer makes normal printing sounds‽) With EVERY use, I'm forced to proceed through all maintenance utility programs ± remove, clean, & reinstall ink cartridges & contacts ± access help through the virtual assistant, to no avail. This wastes vast amounts of paper, ink, & time! The ink cartridges used are HP, new,  and correct.  All printer programs & firmware are installed, correct, & up-to-date. I've even uninstalled & reinstalled them all.

My friend owns a HP 5200 Series All-in-One printer that routinely requires the same steps & delivers the same outcome...

...HELP!

Hi @N0ENVY,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already gone through several troubleshooting steps, but let's try to address this issue systematically. Here are some additional steps you can take to resolve the problem with your HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One printer.

  1. Check Ink Levels:

    • Ensure that your ink cartridges have sufficient ink levels. Some printers may not print properly if the ink levels are too low.
  2. Print a Test Page:

    • Print a test page from your printer to see if the issue persists. This can help identify whether the problem is with the printer hardware or the computer.
  3. Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges:

    • Make sure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP cartridges or refilled cartridges may not work correctly and could lead to printing issues.
  4. Clean the Printhead:

    • Your printer may have a printhead that needs cleaning. Refer to your printer manual for instructions on how to clean the printhead.
  5. Align the Printhead:

    • Perform a printhead alignment to ensure that the printhead is properly aligned. This is usually done through the printer's settings menu.
  6. Update Printer Drivers:

    • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed. You can download the latest drivers from the official HP website.
  7. Check for Firmware Updates:

    • Make sure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve printing issues.
  8. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

    • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility from the HP website. This tool can help diagnose and fix printing problems.
  9. Inspect Paper Quality:

    • Ensure that you are using the correct type and size of paper for your printer. Poor-quality or incompatible paper can lead to printing problems.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

As I stated in my original post, on numerous occasions, I already did everything you listed. I didn't state that I verified my ink levels and paper quality or quantity, I figured that was the first thing anyone would do and not worth mentioning. I'm requesting any helpful ideas beyond general basics and troubleshooting or the listed steps I've already done.

Thank you.
