I don't know how to uninstall the old driver. Don't even know what file to look for, or would it be considered a program that you remove in the ?control panel? Where do I go to do this??
The Scan Doctor fixed this same issue for me a few years ago, but now the Scan Doctor says that nothing is wrong... so it is not removing drivers and uploading new ones. Perhaps we could fix the Scan Doctor? In the meantime, I cannot print in color. Color cartridge is full. The Envy 5540 scans in color, but won't print in color. I am scared to death to muddle around on my computer to try and figure out a way to uninstall a driver (which I don't know the file name of). I wish there was a computer tech in my family, but there isn't - so I need help for someone in the real world who does not maintain computers (nor has any training).

"You can't sell ink for printers that don't print."
Absolutely **bleep** right!
I am going to cancel my 'Instant Ink' account. (Am sure HP won't give a Sh!t about that either...) I see no point in allowing a company the affront in taking my money month after month for a service that is worthless. If the printer can't use colour ink what is the point in having it.
It pains me to see post after post here with people reporting, ad infinitum, the same issue and not a single person from HP providing a permanent solution. Forget the two 'representatives' who have proffered 'solutions' - both were worthless.
Even the courtesy of an official explanation of the problem and a glimmer of hope for a solution would have been welcome.
Seeing the shameful performance by this 'company' to date though it is not be expected.
I will stick with the Canon printer - something I know I am able to depend on.....

I have today been printing and the printer assked me to update which I did. The printer like others stopped printing in colour. I have lost 20 sheets of very expensive card costing £10 in all and it is unuasble as in black and white what I was printing is no good. Thank you to the response from the Spanish help. I too went down the route of tricking the printer by using another driver. I couldn't get the F4200 as suggested but plumped for the F4400. It worked a treat, about 4 times slower than the normal print for some reason but I now have 20 nice Christmas cards!!
HP I would fully expect a reply to me personally for my losses today, both card and alot of ink (Black!!) and a swift response to all as to whay has gone wrong with the update and what you intend to do about it and when.
