Hi @RICK655 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing a common issue where the cyan and blue (a combination of cyan and magenta) inks are not printing correctly on your HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer. Since you've already tried aligning and cleaning the printheads as well as replacing the ink cartridge,
here are a few more steps to help resolve the issue:
Troubleshooting Steps
Check Cartridge Vent: Ensure the vent on the top of the cyan ink cartridge is not clogged. You can gently wipe the top of the cartridge with a lint-free cloth to ensure the vent is clear.
Run Printer Self-Diagnostics:
- Go to the printer's control panel, and navigate to "Tools" or "Printer Maintenance."
- Select "Printer Reports" and then "Print Quality Report" or "Diagnostics Page."
- Examine the printed report for any gaps or missing colors. This will help confirm if the cyan ink is not being distributed properly.
Clean the Printhead More Thoroughly:
- Some printers have an option for a more thorough printhead cleaning. Check if your HP ENVY 5660 has this option and run the cleaning process again.
Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Sometimes, printer issues are resolved through firmware updates. Visit the HP support website and check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a minute or two, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the printer’s internal memory and resolve the issue.
Manual Printhead Cleaning:
- If possible, manually clean the printhead with a soft cloth dampened with distilled water. Gently wipe the printhead nozzles to remove any dried ink or debris.
Print in Different Modes:
- Try printing a test page in different modes (draft, normal, best) to see if there is any change in color output. This can sometimes shake loose any clogs or reveal issues specific to certain settings.
