Hi everyone,

my HP ENVY 6420e All-in-One-Printer doesn't print anymore, it prints out blank pages,

I replaced the cartridges and did the cleaning tasks many times but in vain,

Can someone assist me in fixing this issue?

Best regards,

Marwito

Hi @Marwito,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating that your HP ENVY 6420e is still printing blank pages despite replacing the cartridges and cleaning tasks. Here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check Ink Cartridge Installation

  • Ensure the new cartridges are properly installed and that you hear a click when they are in place.

2. Inspect for Protective Tape

  • Double-check that any protective tape or plastic is removed from the new cartridges, as this can block ink flow.

3. Run Print Head Cleaning

  • From the printer’s control panel or the HP Smart app, perform a print head cleaning. This may help clear any clogs.

4. Print Quality Diagnostic Report

  • Use the printer’s settings to run a print quality diagnostic. This report can help identify specific issues with the print heads.

5. Check Ink Levels

  • Confirm the printer recognizes the ink levels correctly. Sometimes, new cartridges may not be detected properly.

6. Update Printer Firmware

  • Check the HP website for any firmware updates for your printer and install them if available.

7. Reset the Printer

  • Power off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

8. Test with Different Paper

  • Ensure you’re using the right type of paper and that it’s loaded correctly in the tray.

9. Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This software can help diagnose and fix many printing issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Rachel again,

i tried almost all these solutions but it didn't help me. The Hp Print and Scan doctor is available only on Windows, and i use mac.

I noticed that my Hp smart app is not up to date, so i updated it then I cleaned the printhead again: level one and level 2 and i printed the quality report and the quality was unsatisfactory.

The cartridges are HP official products and the ink levels are still above the average
