Cannot find a solution. My ENVY 7100 has been idle for 5 months. Printer alignment fails and will not print cyan. I saw a similar forum and did what was suggested. Replaced catridges, did 3 level head clean, turned off and on the printer, made sure nothing was obstructing the ink. Nothing has worked. I try to print and there are clear streaks on my documents making it unusable. This is my way of contacting support.

Hi @SDSEscanor,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Sorry for the inconvenience caused and don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • When you run a print quality diagnostic page, do you see cyan missing completely, or is it faint/streaky?
  • Are you using genuine HP cartridges or third-party replacements?
  • Did the printer display any error messages during alignment or cleaning cycles?

Suggested troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check the vent on the cartridge: Sometimes the small vent on top of the cartridge can get clogged. Make sure the orange pull-tab was fully removed and the vent is clear.
  2. Manual cleaning of the printhead contacts:
    • Turn off the printer and remove the cartridges.
    • Gently wipe the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and the corresponding contacts inside the printer with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
    • Let them dry completely before reinserting.
  3. Run another printhead cleaning but this time, after cleaning, print a diagnostic page immediately to see if cyan improves.
  4. Try printing in monochrome (black only) to confirm whether the issue is isolated to the cyan channel or affecting multiple colors.
  5. If cyan is still missing after these steps, the printhead may have dried out or become permanently clogged due to the long idle period. In that case, a printhead replacement might be required.

I hope this helps.
