Every time I print something, it has lines through the image. I can't figure out how to get rid of them. I have tried all the options listed in this forum. I have talked to the virtual assistant. None of that worked. This is a newer printer that we haven't used. I am not sure what the issue is. When I do the print quality diagnostic; there is a dark in in the green. I align the cartridges. That sheet of paper looks alright. Then, when I go to print my image it has the lines.

Hi @ImScreaming,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY Inspire 7900 printer is producing prints with lines through the image, despite attempting various troubleshooting steps, the issue could be due to several factors. Here’s a structured approach to help you resolve this problem:

**1. ** Check Ink Levels

  • Verify Ink Levels: Even though your cartridges are new, ensure they are not empty or low. Go to the printer’s control panel or the HP Smart app to check the ink levels.
  • Replace Cartridges: If any cartridge is running low or appears defective, replace it with a new one. Make sure to use genuine HP cartridges.

**2. ** Clean the Printhead

Automatic Cleaning:

  • Access the Printer Maintenance section from the control panel or HP Smart app.
  • Select Clean Printhead or Clean Cartridges and follow the on-screen instructions.

Manual Cleaning:

  • If the automatic cleaning doesn’t help, you may need to clean the printhead manually.
  • Refer to the printer’s manual for instructions on how to remove and clean the printhead. Use a lint-free cloth and distilled water to gently clean the printhead nozzles.

**3. ** Check and Align Printhead

Automatic Alignment:

  • Go to Printer Maintenance on the control panel or HP Smart app.
  • Choose Align Printhead and follow the instructions.

Print Alignment Test:

  • Print a test page or alignment page to check if the alignment issue is resolved.

**4. ** Perform a Printhead Cleaning Cycle

Print Quality Diagnostic:

  • Print a diagnostic page to check for missing or misaligned colors. Look for any specific errors or color issues.

Deep Cleaning:

  • If the print quality is still poor, perform a Deep Cleaning from the maintenance menu to thoroughly clean the printhead.

**5. ** Check Paper and Print Settings

  • Ensure you’re using high-quality, compatible paper for printing. Paper that is too thin or rough can affect print quality.
  • Verify the print settings on your computer or mobile device. Ensure you’re printing at the correct quality level (e.g., Best or High Quality) for your needs.

**6. ** Update Printer Firmware and Software

  • Visit the HP Support website and check for any firmware updates for your printer model. Follow the instructions to update.
  • Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app or printer software installed.

**7. ** Inspect and Replace Cartridges

  • Check for any leaks, damage, or issues with the cartridges. Remove and reinsert them to ensure a proper fit.
  • If the problem persists, try replacing the cartridges with new ones to rule out defective cartridges.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
