HP Envy 6055e printer was set up after 4 months in storage for a move. Now, I cannot get it to print in color or black. Everything comes out in the light blue ink used to print info sheets. Please help.

Hi @bluejean122,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP ENVY 6055e printer is only printing in light blue instead of using the correct ink colors. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Check Ink Levels: Ensure that all your ink cartridges have sufficient ink levels. Low ink levels can sometimes cause printing issues.

Print Quality Diagnostic: Most HP printers have a built-in Print Quality Diagnostic report that can help identify issues with the print head or ink cartridges. Print this report to check if all colors are printing correctly.

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to Setup or Tools.
  • Look for an option like "Print Quality Report" or "Diagnostic Page" and select it to print.

Clean the Print Head: If the Print Quality Diagnostic report shows streaks or missing colors, you may need to clean the print head.

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to Setup or Tools.
  • Look for an option like "Clean Printhead" or "Clean Cartridges" and follow the on-screen instructions to clean the print head.

Align the Print Head (if available): Some printers also have an option to align the print head, which ensures that the colors are correctly placed on the page.

  • Navigate to Setup or Tools on the printer control panel.
  • Look for an option like "Align Print Head" or "Align Cartridges" and select it to align the print head.

Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates can fix bugs and improve printer performance. Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Go to the HP Support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest firmware if available. Follow the instructions to update your printer's firmware.

Check Ink Cartridge Installation: Ensure that all ink cartridges are correctly installed and securely seated in their respective slots. Improperly installed cartridges can cause printing issues.

Reset the Printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer to its factory defaults can resolve software-related issues.

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to Setup or Tools.
  • Look for an option like "Restore Defaults" or "Reset Printer" and select it.

Check Printer Settings: Verify that your printer settings in the print dialog on your computer are correct. Ensure that you have selected color printing and that the correct paper type and size are selected.

I hope this helps.
