HP Envy 110 All-In-One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

As with many posts on here I am annoyed that HP have seemingly blocked my (chosen) use of inks (refilled) which worked perfectly fine until yesterday. Suspect it's due to the firmware upgrade but cannot tell, and cannot find a firmware downgrade for this printer. As it's an old printer HP Envy 110 (working well otherwise) I do not seem to have the 'Cartridge Protection' option to turn off as well. Have now turned off updates.

I, like many people am appalled at this underhand tactic  - I would like an agent to reverse this ASAP as it is affecting my job/work.

Thank you

@Nausicaa, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

HP cannot guarantee the functionality of non-HP ink toners. It may or may not work and can damage the printer too.

This printer is enabled with dynamic security. It is intended to be used only with cartridges with an original HP chip. Cartridges using a non-HP chip might not work, and those that work today may not work in the future. Refilled or remanufactured supplies that still use an Original HP chip will continue to be accepted by the printer.

If you are using a refilled or remanufactured cartridge and wish to continue to do so, then you should check with your cartridge supplier as to whether or not the cartridge has an Original HP chip.

For more info, refer to - Dynamic Security Enabled Printers

Kindly use HP ink toners to resolve this issue. You may visit Hp Store to order compatible ink toners.

"Refilled or remanufactured supplies that still use an Original HP chip will continue to be accepted by the printer"

I am using an original HP chip in my refilled cartridge! I have only ever used original cartridges to refill. It is not being accepted by the printer.

"This printer is enabled with dynamic security".Due to the downloaded firmware that HP have installed recently.

I would like a link to the firmware downgrade please like HP/you have provided for other posters on this site.

I cannot use my printer for woirk until this has been completed.

Thank you

As far as am aware, for me The HP Technical Support is a chargeable service because my printer is out of warranty. Can you please confirm this?  I'm not sure what you mean by 'replacements options'. I wish to be able to downgrade the firmware, can you not send me a link privately as you have done for other posts?

Thank you

@Nausicaa

There is no such option to downgrade the printer firmware. You will only find the latest firmware on the HP drivers page.

Yes, if the printer is out of warranty, support is chargeable.

As you have mentioned that you are using refilled ink cartridges that have HP chips, you may check with the support team if you are eligible for a cartridge replacement.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
