HP ENVY 5010 All-in-One Printer
Hi there,

I've been having a problem with my printer. The black ink seems to not print properly in random places. For example, in the picture below, you can see that the S is smudged and the p is not fully printed. The colour ink is working absolutely fine, and supplies of both ink cartridges are fine. What could this be?

Thanks a lot,

Johann

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting print quality issues, I am glad to assist you.

Did you make a copy and check if that prints fine?

Meanwhile:-

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report

Load the printer with plain white paper.

  • On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display, and then touch Setup .
  • Touch Tools.
  • Swipe up on the display, and then touch Print Quality Report.

If that print quality is not good, follow these steps to fix the issue.

Clean the ink cartridges

  • Load the printer with plain white paper.
  • On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display, and then touch Setup .
  • Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Cartridges.
  • Examine the print quality on the Print Quality Diagnostic report.
