HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer

Hi,

I have just got a HP Envy 5055 printer. The cartridges are half–full on the display, and I have taken them out and visually seen ink on them. The first time I tried to print an image, it came out in lines, with big horizontal gaps missing. The next thing I tried to print had only a few lines. Everything that has come out of the printer since has been blank, including test pages, quality reports, and other kinds of printing. There are no error messages. Please advise, thank you.

This is not helpful, unfortunately. Is there a number that could connect me to a person who could take a look at my problem, so I can tell if these are faulty ink cartridges or if the problem is with the printer? To reply, here are my responses to these attempts:

  1. These are genuine HP Ink Cartridges (I specifically got a message informing of that)
  2. There are no ink smears, in fact there's barely any ink at all.
  3. I am using HP Recycled Paper loaded correctly
  4. The print settings are correct. I am trying to print on regular size and thickness paper. I am not concerned about the quality, I just want anything to print even remotely.
  5. The ink levels are shown as between 1/4 and 1/3 on both the machine and HP Smart. If that is not enough, well, clearly I made a mistake in buying an HP printer.
  6. Same as above
  7. I have tried to print a Print Quality Diagnostic report and it came out almost blank, like every other document I try to print. Clearly, not helpful.
  8. Same as above
  9. I have run the full cycle of cleaning the cartridges on the machine, and unloaded and reloaded them just to be sure.
  10. I cannot see the PQD.
  11. I cannot align the printer because I cannot print. Not helpful.
  12. There are no smeared text areas or track marks.

All the rest is about replacing the cartridge vs servicing the printer. I would like more guidance before I do either of these. Clearly, I don't want to buy additional expensive cartridges for a printer that doesn't work. I have included three photos below: Two of attempted printouts, one B&W and one Color, and one screenshot of the ink levels. Please advise. IMG_0528.jpgIMG_0529.jpgScreen Shot 2023-10-18 at 3.50.45 PM.png
