Hi @Printerless1, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 5055 is using excessive ink, try these steps to reduce ink consumption:

Check Print Quality Settings
*Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
*Right-click HP Envy 5055 > Printing Preferences.
*Under the Paper/Quality tab:
>Select Draft or Eco Mode for less ink usage.
>Choose Grayscale if color is not needed.

Use HP Smart App for Ink Monitoring
Open the HP Smart App.
Go to Printer Settings > Estimated Ink Levels to check if ink is draining too fast.

Update Printer Firmware & Drivers
Visit the HP Support Website and update your firmware and drivers.

Prevent Excessive Cleaning Cycles
Avoid frequent printer restarts, as some models clean the printhead each time they turn on, using ink.

Regular Maintenance
Ensure your printer is well-maintained. Clean the print heads regularly to avoid ink wastage due to clogs.
Use Grayscale Printing
For documents that don't require color, print in grayscale. This will use only the black ink cartridge.

Consider using HP 65XL cartridges (high-yield versions), which last longer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
