I cannot print photos on HP Premium Plus paper. They will print on plain paper but not on photo paper. I have used all the correct settings and tried many solutions that I've found but after four hours I am no further forward. Can anyone help please?

Welcome to the HP User Community.
According to the printer specifications, the Premium Plus photo paper is not supported.

At 80lb / 300 gsm, the HP Premium Plus photo paper is too heavy for this printer.
Example
HP Store > HP Premium Plus Photo Paper, Glossy, 80 lb, 5 x 7 in. (127 x 178 mm), 60 sheets CR669A
Consider using HP Advanced Photo Paper
Printers like this paper.
You could try hand guiding the "too heavy paper" as the printer tries to pick up the paper.
Might work - or it might jam, get stuck, fail utterly, or ruin everything.

Thank you Dragon Fur. I have used this paper previously many times without any problem so cannot understand why it won’t work now, the paper goes through the printer and it sounds as if it’s printing but it just comes out blank!

You are welcome.
OK...
I don't have a different "for sure" answer - it is true that sometimes a printer will tolerate paper not intended for it.
I would guess that perhaps the printer is not-so-new anymore.
If not done, add these to your checkpoints...
- Printer might be dirty (and benefit from a good cleaning) HP DeskJet 4510, ENVY 5530 Printers - 'Paper Jam' Error
- Printer rollers might not be able to handle the heavier paper anymore - there is no actual fix for this one
- In spite of appearances, Printer might not be aware of the Paper Size / Type
- Printer software might benefit from being uninstalled / reinstalled.
Adjust / Edit / Modify Paper Size & Type
Open Printer Tray,
NOTE
If you are having trouble with getting the printer to accept (new) paper,
Remove the stack of paper from the tray
Lightly flex (do not fan) the paper to separate the single sheets
Restack together so the edges match along all sides
Return the paper to the tray
Wait a few seconds
Close Tray
Check / Adjust / Retain the Paper Size and Type at the Printer Display Panel
NOTE This Section is not applicable to printers lacking a printer display panel.
Look for a message on the printer display panel.
Click Modify / Change / No-Yes (wording varies),
Select / Adjust the paper size and type, Click OK

If the size of the Paper Size is not in the Drop-down list,
If the printer supports the option,
Select Custom
Notes:
- Not all printers support size “Custom”
- "Copy" dislikes mismatched content / paper size and type. For example, select for Tray: Standard sized "Letter" / "A4" plain paper
