My computer showed me the message that the printer ink is running low.  I opened the printer to change the cartridge however I cannot see whichcartridge, colour or black, that needs changing.

@JanS2, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

If you have the HP Smart app installed on your MAC, open HP Smart, and then select your printer, if it is not already selected.

Estimated ink levels display next to your printer.

Estimated ink cartridge levels

If you do not have the HP Smart app installed, you may print a printer status report

A Printer Status Report lists the printer serial number, estimated ink levels, ink cartridge numbers, printer usage, and connectivity settings.

  1. Make sure there is plain white paper in the input tray.

  2. Touch and hold the Information button  for 3 seconds.

All the control panel buttons light up.

  3. At the same time, touch the Resume and Cancel buttons .

    A Printer Status Report prints.

Kindly refer to - Replacing Ink Cartridges
