Hi @genec123,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Printer Preferences:
- Open a document and click on File > Print.
- Select Show Details to view the complete printing options.
- Look for a section labeled Presets or a similar option to ensure that it is not set to a setting that defaults to black & white.
Ensure Full Driver Installation:
- Ensure you have the full-feature driver and software package installed from the HP Support website.
- Sometimes the built-in AirPrint driver may not offer all features, including color printing options.
Set Print Quality:
- In the print dialog, select Quality or a similar option to ensure it’s set to a setting that supports color.
Check Application Print Settings:
- Some applications have their own print settings that can override the system settings. Make sure the application you're printing from is not set to print in grayscale.
Reset the Printing System:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click in the printer list and choose Reset printing system....
- Re-add your HP Envy 6000e printer afterward.
Verify Color Ink Levels:
- Ensure that the color ink cartridge is properly installed and has enough ink.
- From System Preferences, select your printer and check the supply levels.
Updating or Reinstalling Drivers:
- Sometimes a fresh installation can help. Remove the existing printer drivers and then reinstall them from scratch:
- Delete the printer from System Preferences.
- Download and install the drivers from the HP Support.
- Re-add the printer in System Preferences.
I hope this helps.
