Hey experts - I have just replaced the ink cartridge on my HP Envy 6000e printer, and I am now getting an 'E0' error code, which I understand is an error with the printer cartridge.

I have done everything advised - switched off, checked cartridge seating, cleaned contact points - still in error.

The cartridge taken out was labelled pure and simply '305' the replacement cartridge is labelled '67/305'.

Do I have the wrong replacement cartridge? They look identical...

I have also done a swap, putting back the old cartridge to see if it cleared the fault, it did....

Hi Irwin,

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated...

Right, OK, so am not really getting anywhere with this.......

With the first cartridge I bought, the 67/305, I replaced the old cartridge and immediately got an E0 error code. I did everything suggested to rectify the E0 code, it changed nothing, still had the error code.

I then put the old cartridge back in, to see if the error code disappeared, it did. I then put the new cartridge back in to see if the error code returned, it did.

From that, I deduced that the 67/305 cartridge was not correct, so returned it. I then purchased a straight 305 cartridge, which just has '305' on the cartridge (as opposed to 67/305).

When fitting the new 305 cartridge, the printer did an alignment test OK, and seemed to work. I ran a test print from a Word document, and it printed. I assumed all was fixed.

However, no, now the printer is throwing the old E0 error code again. Nothing I do will remove it.

The printer will still print from Word. However, it will not print from a web page / PDF download / preview page, with the printer being shown as 'not available'. It shows as 'available' in Word.

I have followed your links to the error codes - the printer has a light blue light, which shows it is idle and waiting to print. The E0 error code still shows, nothing I do gets rid of it.

I am running the Firmware update as I type, as a download via my Mac, and it is stuck whirring away on the 'Device Discovery' section.

Not sure what to do next....

Thanks in advance...

Also, I cannot get my HP Smart app to pick up the printer....

The printer is connected via WiFi, with the WiFi symbol on the printer being a solid light blue colour.

Yet, in HP Smart, the printer is listed as 'Unavailable'.

As a result, I cannot complete my registration for Instank Ink...

Hi @LauraMac103,

I am sorry to hear that the above link did not help much.

Uninstall the printer software by following the steps from this link and restart the device on which you do not get the colour settings.

Install the printer software by clicking on the link again.
