HP ENVY 6020 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. I recently purchased the cartridge 307XL for my HP Envy 6020. According to both the HP store and elsewhere, this should be compatible. However, the printer gives the error message "Cartridge not intended for use in this printer". The cartridge that came out was a 67 - which I cannot find for sale in the UK. The firmware on the printer is up to date (VASBASPP1N001.2211A.00). Is there a way to make it recognise this cartridge? If I get the 305XL - which is also recommended for this printer by HP - will that have the same problem?

You will need to regionalise the printer first, then you will be able to use local cartridges.

Did you buy the printer when new locally or overseas?

The 67 cartridges are for US and Asia markets, 305/307 are for the European market.

Ah, I guess that could be the problem. I was given the printer (by someone who was relocating) and they purchased it in New Zealand. I'm in the UK. I've used the 67 numbered cartridges I had with it.

I've set the printer as being in the UK. Is that not enough for it to be okay with the different number cartridge?

Thanks Valsimot! That looks to be the answer - clearly my search terms were no good earlier on.

Will think about what to do as the printer is out of warranty so it's not a cheap solution!
