For some weeks my printer has been black and pink only - no yellow or blue. The replacement ink cartridges arrived ages ago, but the printer won't open to let me replace the old one. I have been deliberately printing large photos (and thereby using up my print allowance) to try to force it to realise that it needs new ink. It isn't working.

I've tried the head cleaning utility, no joy.

Any suggestions before I throw the **bleep** thing in the bin and go back to Epson?

We understand how frustrating it is when your HP Envy 6032e won’t let you replace ink cartridges and continues to print incorrectly despite cleaning attempts. Let’s go through the recommended steps to resolve this.

Recommended Steps

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds
  • Plug it back in and power on
  • Wait until the printer is fully initialized


2. Open the Cartridge Access Door

  • Lift the top cover (scanner lid) completely
  • The carriage should move to the center automatically
  • If it doesn’t, press Cancel or OK on the control panel to wake the printer


3. Update Printer Firmware


4. Use HP Smart App

  • Open HP Smart > Printer Settings
  • Check for the Cartridge Replacement option
  • If the printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink, ensure the new cartridges are compatible


5. Reset the Printer

  • Press and hold the Cancel + Wireless buttons together for 5 seconds
  • This resets the printer to factory defaults
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi and retry cartridge access

Hi Vikram,

thank you for replying. Sadly, the pesky thing is still not cooperating.

I have followed step 1 - recycle the power.

Step 2 is impossible, the lid will not open more than an inch and the HP ENVY 6032e printer does not have either an OK or a Cancel button, only 'i', wifi and two copy option buttons

Step 3 - I had already checked that the firmware is up to date

Step 4 - There is no 'Cartridge Replacement ' option under printer settings in the HP Smart App on my windows 11 PC. Similarly in the App on my Android phone, the App tells me I need to replace the ink, but there's no way I can see to control the printer to open it's lid.

 

Do you have any other suggestions, specific to this model of printer?
