Hello. Whenever I print things, there are streaks shown on the page, even when I put brand new ink in. I opened my printer and saw a white long ribbon floating around, probably not attached properly. After googling, I assume that this ribbon is called the flat flex cable. Nothing I can recall that happened in order for this to become lose. I barely use this printer.. advice? I bought it at Best Buy and my warranty is no longer active. Thanks!

The encoder strip usually is a transparent strip, tensioned from the left side to the right.
If thats a white ribbon - its probably the flat flex cable that should be attached to the motherboard and the printhead carriage.
If any of these would be detached you would get a error message and the printer would stop working.
If you have any quality issues with your prints, maybe try to find the cleaning mode in your printer settings and try to clean the print head.

Hi there. Thank you for replying! It’s definitely the flat flex cable. I didn’t get an error message, but when I opened up the printer, the flat flex cable is definitely not where it’s supposed to be. Please see the picture I’ve attached to this post.. thank you again!
