Product: HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer

The printer is saying the black ink cartridge is not communicating with the printer. We have had this printer for about a year and was working until about 2 weeks ago. We tried getting a new instant ink cartridge, cleaning the contacts of the black ink cartridge and the black ink cartridge connects on the printer itself. We tried resetting the device without the cartridges and then inserting them and nothing seems to be working. The printer does work in single cartridge mode but does not produce the black quite right on photos. What do we do?
