HP Ink cartridges are much larger than before

I received black cartridges in the mail from HP Instant Ink that were much larger than normal for my printer. I did not want to force the cartridge in its position. When I contacted HP for help, the virtual agent said the larger cartridges are meant for that type of printer. However, I still have not been able to get the 63/302 cartridge to fit my HP Envy 4520 printer. It is used to 65/304 cartridges, which are smaller and easy to load and snap in. I've been on the HP Instant Ink plan for 5 years, and this is the first time they have shipped me these longer cartridges. My warranty has expired, so I do not have access to a human being at HP for contact help. Does anyone out there have suggestions?

Could you please confirm your printer model is HP Envy 4520? the specific model uses HP 63/302 ink cartridges and not any other number, HP 65/304 cartridges are used by later models, not by an HP Envy 4520 printer:
