Has anyone experienced this weird problem.  I bought a 3 pack of ink cartridges at OfficeMax and each cartridge says depleted.  What to do!~  Could it be the printer?

Does the cartridge say it or do you mean you get an error message on your printer?  What is the exact error message you are getting?

Also, ask Office Max whether they include the HP chip in their ink cartridges.  If they don't, the HP firmware will not allow your printer to connect with the non-HP chipped cartridge.   They even acknowledge that an update on their firmware will prevent you from being able to use a cartridge that previously was working.  That happened to me.

ON HP Website when describing their printers:

The printers use the dynamic security measures to block cartridges using non-HP chips or modified or non-HP electronic circuitry.* Reused, remanufactured, and refilled cartridges that reuse the HP chip or electronic circuitry are unaffected by dynamic security.

Thanks Dina,    The message is on the printer screen.   Cartridge Problem, one or more cartridges are missing or damaged.  Until the cartridges are replaced make sure the printer is turned on to avoid damage to the printer.    I will take the printer and cartridges in to Office Max tomorrow.  Thank you so much.
