macOS 11.0 Big Sur

About a month ago I got a new HP printer and enrolled in Instant Ink. Things have being going well but now my black ink cartridge is super low and yet HP has still not sent a replacement cartridge nor will it let me manually request one. I thought this system was going to be great as a PhD student who prints a lot of stuff but now I'm reconsidering it as the ink is FAR from instant. Maybe I'm not looking in the right location or maybe it's unnecessarily difficult to actually get ink when you need it....
