Hi there,

I am enrolled on instant ink. However as the colour ink was running low  (low level warning came on) and I had some printing to do, I bought a genuine HP cartridge from a well known store in the UK.

When I installed the new cartridge, the low ink warning was still on.

It is the correct  cartridge.

I have tried removing the cartridge, and cleaning the cartridge contact points, and still the low level warning is on.

Does this mean the new cartridge is faulty. Or is there something else. I am led to believe I can use store purchased cartridges whilst enrolled in instant ink.

HP does seem to recognise by email that I am using a store purchased cartridge.

Look forward to hearing from you. From the UK.

Hi Betty,

After much scratching of my head and reading the user guide, I decided to ring HP Support.

As you say, it was explained to me that I cannot use store purchased cartridges whilst I am enrolled on Instant Ink.

HP has now sent me a further supply of instant ink.

The store bought cartridge I have covered in cling film to stop it drying out.

If I decide to unenroll from instant ink, the person on the call advised it was best to ring HP just to confirm I have successfully unenrolled.

In some ways I am fault as I had a exceptional amount of printing to do, and just wanted to get it out of the way.

Thanks for your assistance.

Regards

Henry
