Hi @Tt1141,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing an "incompatible cartridge" error with your HP Laser 107w printer, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Check Toner Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the toner cartridge you are using (HP 106A) is compatible with your HP Laser 107w printer. Sometimes, using a cartridge that is not specifically designed for your printer model can lead to compatibility issues.

Reinstall the Cartridge:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  • Remove the toner cartridge and carefully reinstall it.
  • Make sure it is securely placed in the correct position.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP official website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model.
  • If updates are available, follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.

Clean Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  • Remove the toner cartridge and inspect the contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer.
  • If there is any dust or debris, gently clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  • Wait for a few minutes, then reconnect the power cable and turn on the printer.
  • Check if the issue persists.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a factory reset on your printer. Consult your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.

Check for Protective Strips:

  • Ensure that any protective strips or tapes on the toner cartridge have been removed before installation.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
