My HP LaserJet CP1025nw Color Printer would at seemingly random times print in black and white despite it not being selected on the device I'm printing from. There is no shortage of color toner and at other times it prints in color fine. Restoring the printer to its factory settings or reinstalling printer software would fix the issue in the next print but the problem would randomly return. What could be causing this?

What operating system and programs are you printing from? This is more likely a program or possibly driver issue and less likely  a hardware issue with the printer.
