My HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281cdw indicated that I needed to change the magenta cartridge.
I have always used the HP Original 202X cartridges, and when I replaced the magenta cartridge with an original HP 202X cartridge, I received the error: "Indicated cartridges blocked for containing a non-HP chip. More at www.hp.com/learn/ds"
Thinking that it may be an issue with cartridge, I opened another original magenta cartridge box and tried that one. Neither of them works, both providing me with the error. When I replace the old cartridge (almost empty) in the tray, the printer works.
Please help! I have hundreds of $$$$ in original HP ink for this printer!

Hi, thanks for the feedback.
I tried updating the firmware, and now I receive either the screen saying "49 Service Error" or "79 Service Error", with directions to restart. When I restart, I get the same error loop. What should I do?
Thanks.

Hi @4wheelerswi,
Thank you for replying to us.
I see that you are getting 79 Service Error on your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281cdw.
Please follow the steps listed below for 79 Service Error:
1. Disconnect the printer from the network.
If on wired network: Unplug the Ethernet cable from the back of the printer.
If on wireless network: Power off the router.
2. Turn off the printer and wait for 30 seconds. Turn on the printer, if printer is in ready state.
3. Disable the IPv6 feature from the front panel by clicking Setup -> Network Setup -> Network Services -> IPv6, and then set to Off.
4. Connect the printer back to the network again and send a print job via network.
Let me know if this helps and have a nice day ahead.
