HP OFFICEJET PRO 8600 PLUS
Microsoft Windows 11

Back in May of 24 ink was purchased at a brick-and-mortar store. Just like always I take my old one out and put the new one in. Well, this time it wouldn't take it. I went back to the store, and they told me to contact HP. I did eventually after long hours of waiting and waiting I finally reach a human. They then shipped me a brand-new black ink. Well to my surprise it still didn't work. I now can't get a human on the phone and the virtual assistant doesn't help because the printer is too old. I have looked online, and it seems like a region lock on the printer/ink side of things. What is the easiest way to get help and get my printer going?

ERROR "Incompatible ink cartridges. The following cartridges are not intended for use in this printer. K."

Hi @josepatino5,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OFFICEJET PRO 8600 PLUS will not take HP-provided INK. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

May I know you have changed the region? If Yes

Then We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

To access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
