My Office Jet Pro 8020e All-in-One is printing blank pages. Before changing the cartridges, the printer worked very well. I changed the MCY cartridges recently because the ink was low. I’m enrolled in the Instant Ink service and all the cartridges in the printer are the HP ink from that program. After successfully installing the new ink cartridges, the printer has only been printing out blank pages. There are no error messages. I have tried the Smart Clean and that has not improved the issue.

Hi @LaffyTafi,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Printing blank pages can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the new cartridges are properly installed. Make sure each cartridge is securely seated in its slot and that the protective tape or cover has been removed from the cartridge's print head.
  • Check Ink Levels: Confirm that the new cartridges have ink in them. Sometimes, cartridges may be defective or have insufficient ink. You can check the ink levels through the printer's control panel or via the printer software on your computer.
  • Run Print Head Cleaning: Perform a deeper print head cleaning process. You can usually find this option in the printer's settings menu. Running multiple cleaning cycles may help clear any clogged nozzles that could be causing the blank pages.
  • Align Print Heads: Check if there's an option to align the print heads in the printer settings. Proper alignment ensures that the ink is distributed correctly onto the page.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Sometimes, firmware updates can address printing issues. Check if there are any updates available for your printer model and install them if necessary.
  • Verify Instant Ink Enrollment: Ensure that your printer is properly enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program and that the cartridges you installed are recognized by the program.
  • Inspect Printer Settings: Double-check the printer settings on your computer or through the printer's control panel. Ensure that the correct paper size, type, and print quality settings are selected.
  • Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Turn off the printer, unplug it from power, wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. Additionally, restart your computer and try printing again.
  • Try Different Paper: Test printing on a different type of paper to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, the problem may be related to the paper quality or compatibility.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020e All-in-One printer printing blank pages.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
