I'm having the same issue it seems like everyone is having on the newest firmware. Has anyone found a way to get past this? Has anyone found a solution to downgrade firmware? Seems that everyone is going through the same issue with no real solution.

I've tried:

Cleaning Cartridge

Taking out the Ink Head multiple times

Resetting it

Running in OBE mode

Haven't tried MFG mode

No idea how to downgrade firmware

@Bmays, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 printer is experiencing ink-related issues, such as the printer not printing or displaying error messages like "Print System Problem" or "Problem with Ink System," follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issues:

Check the Ink Cartridges for Leaks

Access the Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the door to access the ink cartridges.
  • Wait until the carriage stops moving.

Inspect for Leaks:

  • Remove an ink cartridge and check for ink leaks.
  • Replace any leaking cartridges.

Removing an ink cartridge

  1. Reinstall Cartridges:
    • Ensure non-leaking cartridges are re-installed securely.

Reset the Printer

Power Off the Printer:

  • Press the power button; if it doesn’t turn off, unplug the power cord.

Unplug and Plug:

  • Wait 60 seconds before reconnecting the power cord directly to a wall outlet.

Power On:

  • Turn on the printer.

Reseat the Printhead

  1. Access Cartridge Area:
    • Open the cartridge access door.
    • Look for a latch on the carriage.

Latch on the ink cartridge carriage

  1. Adjust Printhead:
    • With the printer on, disconnect the power.
    • Lift the carriage latch and adjust the printhead.
    • Lower the carriage latch securely.

Note

Always use genuine HP cartridges to ensure quality and reliability. You can purchase official HP supplies at the HP Store.
