HP OfficeJet Pro 9022 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear community members,

My HP OfficeJet Pro 9022 printer with the latest firmware (MANHHIPP1N002.2313A.00 - March, 2023) needed its first print cartridge replacement. I purchased a third party 963XL Multipack and installed the black cartridge. I enabled Trade Supplies option under "Trade at OOBE" sub-menu under System Configuration menu. However the printer has blocked the cartridge and does not allow me to print. It gives the message "The indicated cartridges have been blocked by the printer firmware..."

I would like to know how this can be fixed if possible. Is there a firmware version that I can downgrade to (not a recommended option) which accepts trade supplies. Is this the normal behavior of the printer i.e. not allowing third party cartridges?

Thanks in advance,

Prasad
