Hi,
I am having trouble printing with my OfficeJet 6869 printer. I switched my depleted XL black ink cartridge for a new regular sized black ink cartridge because my prints would come out incomplete. Ever since swapping cartridges, my printer prints out nothing but blank pages. I tried switching back to the old cartridge to see if I can at least get some ink on the printout paper, but nothing but blank comes out even when I do that. My three color cartridges are low on ink too but that shouldn't be a problem since I have been trying to print out a form that only needs black ink. I have tried everything suggested by the virtual agent; I have done several printhead cleanups, attempted to align the printer and print the maintenance report (both failed because they came out blank). On top of all that, the ink measurements now indicate that my black ink quantity has lowered to about half capacity despite every single printing attempt coming out blank. Please help as soon as you can.

Hi Rcastro94,
Understand that you experienced difficulty printing in black. Assuming there isn't any error code / problem displayed.
Have you tried the appropriate setting to "order" printer print under B&W condition (used only black cartridge)?
I found one of support document that you help, https://support.hp.com/sg-en/document/c05076934
- Step 6: Check the print settings
- In the software application you are trying to print from, click File, and then click Print. The Print window opens.
- Open the Properties dialog box.Depending on the software application, the button might be Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.
- Depending on your print job, you might consider modifying the following settings:- Paper Type: If you are printing on photo paper, select the type of photo paper you are attempting to print on.
- Print Quality: If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your printouts, increase the print quality. To print more quickly, decrease the print quality. These options typically include Best, Normal, and Draft modes.
- Paper Size: If you are printing on a different size of paper than you normally print on, select the correct paper size.
- Black and White: If you want to print in black and white only, select the grayscale option.

- After selecting the print settings, click OK to apply the settings, and then click Print.
- Step 20: Service the printer
- Service or replace your HP product if the issue persists after completing all the preceding steps.Go to Contact HP Customer Support to schedule a product repair or replacement. If you are in Asia Pacific, you will be directed to a local service center in your area.To confirm your warranty status, go to HP Product Warranty Check.
