Hi @Rickym1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 0x6100004a on an HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 typically indicates a hardware issue or a problem with the printer mechanism. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer, and wait for about 60 seconds. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Check for Jammed Paper: Open the input and output trays, check for any jammed paper, and remove it carefully. Make sure there are no obstructions in the paper path.

Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and any other cables connected to it. Wait for about 2-3 minutes, then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Update Firmware: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer on the HP website. Updating the firmware may resolve compatibility issues and improve the printer's performance.

Check for Foreign Objects: Inspect the printer for any foreign objects or debris that may be obstructing the printhead or any other components. Use a flashlight to get a better view.

Inspect Cartridges: Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed and are not empty. If needed, replace any empty or faulty cartridges.

Perform a Hard Reset:

a. Turn off the printer.

b. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.

c. Disconnect any other cables connected to the printer.

d. Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds.

e. Reconnect the power cord and other cables.

f. Turn on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
