My printer suddenly started giving an error message "carriage is jam."  There is no paper jam.  The carriage will move back and forth until it goes to the left for the second time and then the message appears and I can do anything else on the printer.  I took a flashlight and looked inside and to the right there's like a space or kind of like a well area that has ink spilled inside there.  I did manage somehow to print one page but it had no ink smears or smudges on it. But now it won't print at all.  And even when I try to shut it down, it won't shut down and I have to unplug it. My warranty is expired.  Two other customers had this same issue one year ago and no support from HP was given.  I'm a little discouraged and disappointed with HP!!  Thanks
